Excellent Product August 29, 2009 Lee A. Molden (Long Island, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased this product as we were unable to get the gym as often as we would like. I have been very happy with this machine. It is smaller than the gym-sized ellipticals, but delivers the same performance as the SportsArt 8300 I used at the gym. It offers various resistances, water bottle holder, heart monitor etc. In my opinion, the overall quality of the machine is not quite as good as the sportsart, it is a little lighter in construction, and may not hold up over time as well, but comparing price and convenience of working out at home, I would recommend this machine to anyone.
New Elliptical August 23, 2009 K. Fussell (Georgia) WE love our new Schwinn Elliptical! We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 teens. I am the shortest in the family at 5'7". This Elliptical has been perfect for us in every way! The stride is great for long legs and it doesn't wobble when we ride it. WE read alot of reviews before purchasing this product and I can say we are very pleased. I would recommend reading all the reviews and helpful tips....this came in handy for us as we had a squeak early on that we were able to fix quickly based on the experience of others.
For its price, you can't do much better August 21, 2009 D. Poulson (Bellevue WA) When this arrived at my doorstep, it looked like it would be a pretty daunting task to assemble. It really wasn't that bad. It took about two hours mainly because I screwed up and put two regular washers on the bolts instead of one washer and one locking washer. That was my bad and I had to go back and re-do some areas. Other than that it was pretty straightforward. We've been using it now for two weeks with no squeaking or anything. Just smooth quiet operation like most of the other reviewers have said.
Overall, this is a great product. For the price you pay, you get a lot of features without all of the quirky things that you don't really need.
My only gripe is that the stride could be longer. I'm 6'4" and I have long legs so often my heel will come off the foot hold at the back of the stride. Not a big deal, but the only thing I've noticed that I would change.
Great machine August 20, 2009 PM The machine is working out great so far. It did take several days to put together but it feels sturdy.
Assembly Notes August 15, 2009 Mel L. (Broadview Heights, OH) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Overall good product. Level "1" seems a bit more like Level "2 or 3" at the gym,
but think it'll work out well in the long run.
Also, good assembly instructions too, but here are 4 simple pointers that should
help you avoid any squeaking problems:
1. Buy a spray can of WHITE LITHIUM GREASE from K Mart etc. for a few dollars.
2. Before assembling each part where two parts come together, clean out the
metal shavings (left from the manufacturer) inside the holes as best you can.
3. Spray the inside and lubricate all joints and rods with the white lithium grease
(a better quality grease that doesn't degrade as much over time).
4. IMPORTANT: On Step 7-3 (Install Right and Left Lower Handlebars), it says to
"Use the two supplied combo wrenches to 'thoroughly tighten' the hardware", but
I found that if you over-tighten this, even with plenty of lubrication, it will
squeak a minute into using the machine. Simple fix: Get it lightly snug, then
loosen the two bolts just a bit.
Hope this helps ...
